I quit my job due to a series of events. My boss was rude, bullying, mentally abusive. It seemed the job I had was going downhill because of unethical practices. I did't feel safe there, was unsure of it's future whether we would be paid etc. It was just a very stressful environment on a daily basis. The job was somewhat taking a toll on my health.

It may be possible for unemployment. The only thing to do is file for unemployment and see if it works. You will probably have your boss fight it but there is a chance you may win. There will be a phone meeting with a judge you and your boss and possibly other management. You will have to state that what you were expected to do was not in the job discription. Tell them exactly what you said here and the judge will have to make a decision. Any documents any proof you have if any must be faxed to the judge before the phone meeting.

Apply for unemployment and list these things as your reasons for quiting. You may be entitled to draw unemployment, especially if you saw a doctor for the health problems and can get a statement from the doc that your job contributed to the condition. You should go to the Unemployment office in person to apply though, that way you can discuss your case and your reasons for resigning. Good luck.

That is your reason right there. If the environment is unhealthy or unsafe than you had every right to quit your job. Go to the local unemployment office and go through the unemployment collection process. They will tell you what is right and wrong. Don't wait too long because you can only file and collect for so long after you quit.

You have to be fired, you can not quit and get unemployment. if you get caught stealing and you get fired, you still do not get unemployment. There are certain things you have to do, but if you quit< you better start looking for another job because you will NOT get any money from unemployment.

Where I live you are not entitled to unemployment if you quit a job. You have to be laid off or fired. If you are fired there is a longer waiting period.

Usually when you quit your job you won't get unemployment insurance. You can only hope for it when you have been fired or laid off. Sometimes when you are fired, your ex-employer can fight it so you don't get benefits.

It depends on what state you live in and the laws applied to employment issues in that state. Contact the appropriate office in your county.
