What would happen if there was no more fuel at the gas pumps tomorrow, what would happen? What would be the longterm effects, and how would the US population cope?

In 2001, there was a simultaneous blockade of the 11 oil processing plants in the UK. This was organised by a group of haulage companies protesting the high price of fuel. Most gas pumps were out of fuel within 2 days. There was gas available for public transport and emergency services, but none for the average person. Luckily, it came to a peaceful conclusion a few days later. Fortunately, not many people in the mainstream UK population own guns, so there were no shootings in the line-ups for the remaining gas.

With the leadership that the U.S. has now, rather than change, I think the U.S. would go to war with whoever was withholding the gas from us. However, there has recently been found a new oil reserve in the U.S., so there should be plenty of fuel for the immediate future. The prices would just skyrocket.

Well, thankfully that will never happen. Although industrial action is always a risk, the government would step in quickly and either break the blockade or nationalize the industry temporarily to get the petrol flowing again.

Spot shortages have occurred but a national shutdown simply isn't going to happen. Sure, the supply is finite but as it runs out, prices will rise which will force other options. Not the least of which is the revitalization of oil shale in the US.

The US actually has the largest reserves of oil on the planet, many times the known combined reserves of every other nation combined. Unfortunately up until now it has been locked away in deposits that were not economically viable. However, with crude prices at $70.00 per barrel the picture changes completely.

BTW, the banning of guns in the UK only affected the ordinary citizen. It only served to drive up the price of illegal weapons in the street. What cost £100.00 back in 1996 now sells for £1000.00 or more. The crimminal element will always have access to guns at some price. Interestingly, knife crime and violent crime involving other weapons has increased astronomically in the UK since the banning and confiscation of guns from the ordinary populace. Had the situation in 2001 gone on much longer there is little doubt that society would have collapsed into violence of various forms, with and without guns.

each little thing that tells our next era that both mom and dad only arent that major in our society anymore helps to spoil our society. each little thing that tells our next era that this mom/father loving relations dynamic is not any longer the perfect hurts our society. each little thing that pushes the concept that what human being habit doesnt have any impression on society as an finished and so do even if the heck you want hurts our society. persons make up a society. human being's attitudes make up the society's body of innovations. at the same time as people say what persons do arent any employer of anybody else then properly there it proves that this body of innovations is affecting our society. If what you and that i do doesnt impression society, then what does? extraterrestrial beings? Cows? flora? What human being people do impacts society. you may want to argue that it doesnt do damage to our society to settle for this new transferring of relations dynamics in our society and that it really is in uncomplicated phrases just about as good, if no longer more advantageous, yet i look round at what has been happening over the perfect 50 years provided that we've dramatically devalued this mom/father nuclear relations and dont see how that's real.

first off, we are not going to have gas in 40-50 years with the rate we are going at....we are totally going to wipe out the gasoline industry....but the people know about this..that's why they are selling the gas at such high prices, because they know that us consumers need the gas. THey should just let us buy the new electric cars because they are working on those and have new cars that don't use fuel...they are just using our money to benefit...shitty world, but money is a greedy thing

Lots of people would be biking to work, that's for sure... I bet people would do crazy things like trying to suck the remaining gas out of other people's cars and pool it into theirs.

we really would have a civil war because no one would understand that it would be easier on all of us if we just rode bikes or walked places and for the US walking and biking would better for all of us. all though the world may die out because of all the persperation becaause no one ever wants to put on deoderant or they just sweat tooo much. so either way we r all going to die.
