Do the avatars make any difference in how you respond to a question?

Im just wondering if avatars make a difference in the total yahoo package. does it have a difference when you chat? This is just curiosity.

Not at all, a legitimate question should be answered regardless if there is an avatar or not. The question should also be answered honestly by someone that has knowledge in that subject, but apparently we have alot of boneheads on here just trying to rack up points.

It doesn't make a difference to me. I go strictly by the question. If I think your question is dumb, then I won't answer even if you have the most beautiful avatar.
I don't think it would make a difference when I chat because you can't count on an avatar to know if someone is really a boy or a girl.

Here on Yahoo! Answers the avatars do NOT make a difference in how I respond to a question.

I prefer to see the questioner's avatar rather than nothing at all and, as I'm writing this I've realised I'd RATHER see the avatar than an actual photo.

Hmm, that's rather telling, isn't it?

It makes no difference to me whether I answer a question with a male/female avatar or not. The question just gets answered, period.

If you ask a question, if you have an avatar, it stands out among the questions that don't have avatars attached to them, and therefore gets more attention and gets more answers. At least, that is what I think.

Nope. I go by the origin to the question. For example, if the Question says "HELP?" I look at the category of the question. I go from there =)

in answering questions, it's helpful to know if it's a girl or a guy.
