I don't IM, & yes, sometimes I feel a little "out of the loop," but I prefer good "old-fashioned" e-mail. #1, it gives me (& my brain) time to organize & give good, thoughtful responces. #2, it gives the people that I write to the opportunity to think about what I'm saying (which is often necessary).
I don't IM or text, but I don't care (most of the time). I have FAR more important things to worry about! It's all a matter of opinion! :-)

I feel instant messages are a personal choice and you should not feel pressured or out of the loop if you choose not to use it

I don't know, I use instant messengers. If I didn't use them I guess I would feel like I was out of the loop a little but I wouldn't care.

When I first got hooked on instant messaging that was how I felt. Over time, I learned that instant messaging is not everything and that there's more to life than being on it.
Give it time, that too, will soon pass over. :)

You need to get out of the house girl. You're in a virtual loop.

I think you only feel this way if you assume the Internet is base solely on things like Yahoo, MSN, ICQ etc.
I know people that do think like that, and I explain to them that those services are just a insignificant part of the Internet, if we where without them the impact would be very minimal.

I don't think you're missing anything...think about it...im'g...sitting there in front of your computer talking w/ your "keys"...when you can get together w/ friends instead...I'd say it's the others that are "out of the Loop"...not you...

not when ur older. when i was in middle school and highschool it was important to talk to a million people at the same time every night, but when u go off to college, it becomes less important because u actually hang out with people, rather than type to the masses.
