Monopoly is all about the Benjamins. It teaches you to win money at any costs. So... yeah, keep it. And then charge the hat for landing on Park Place.

By the (implied) rules of Monopoly, it follows that if you can't refuse to pay the bank a fee or another person when you land on their property, you can't refuse money the bank gives you. In modern parlance -- and likely in the 1930s when Monopoly appeared too -- a "bank error" would refer to a mistake the bank made which you're benefiting from. There's no ethical dilemma there, so keep the money!

Well...I may just be too generous...
But if there was a bank error in MY favor, I'd keep the money but use it for something chartiable i.e. cleaning up the Baltic Avenue slums or perhaps for patching up the Boardwalk. Maybe I'd even put in a new 'Grand Funk Railroad' to loosen the strain on the other modes of transportation (I mean...for God's sake, there's only ONE car in the whole area). If I had any leftover after that, I'd prolly throw some in towards "The Uncle Pennybag's Rehab Fund". Poor guy got hooked on 'thimble' back in the 80's and it's taken him so long to get back on his feet...

Of course you keep it. Pretend you are the bank and get a card that says Customer error in your favor, What would they do? Monopoly's greatest lesson - winning is counter-ethical.

It is not only ethical, it's required! Haven't you ever heard the expression "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth."? Any error in your favor is a good thing so count your blessings.

well, its just a game! however if it was in real life i would say that you should return it to the bank if you're an honest person. if not, then keep it i guess.
