If you really enjoy root canals you will enjoy trying to fix a stick of RAM. :-)

If you bought it from a reputable company like Crucial, Kingston, PNY, Kahlon, or even a chain store like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc, the RAM will have a lifetime warranty. Just get it replaced and don't go through the pain and agony of that root canal...... er, I mean that RAM repair.

Unless you're an engineer or a reverse-engineer, it is quite likely that attempting to fix a stick of RAM is not worth your time. If it is still under warranty, you can get a new stick of the same brand and capacity for free at your retailer.

Ram is reasonably cheap these days, throw it away. I had a bad stick of ram in my old system, before I knew it was the ram it managed to kill my bios and destroy the boot sector of 3 hard drives.... Not worth the pain....
