They are fine, but I prefer Kotex.

Playtex is ok, I don't care for tampax. I only buy Kotex though, they seem more absorbent.
TSS shouldn't be a problem for anyone who changes their tampons regularly, every 4-6 hours at the most.

I am an "older woman" and perhaps the wrong person to be answering this particular question. I feel that "pads" are best for using during the cycle of your period. They don't conform to your body, are ugly and "smelly", and not convenient! However, they are better for a woman to use. They are not intrusive, harmful, or use petroleum products (the plastic, the string, etc). Tampons were created by someone out to make a "buck" who thought that they were more comfortable, less "smelly", and convenient. Who ever said life was any of those things? We were born to be uncomfortable, especially during the cycle. Use pads! They came first!

Never tryed anything but Tampax so really couldn't say. But, Tampax has always done the job with no complaints at all, wether it's being uncomfortable, leakage, or intersting. I now use Tampax Pearls because they have a rounded tip, they are plastic but silky and goes in smooth because they are like the texture of a Pearl, not those cheap cheesy cardboard applicators!

I perfer pads I just dont believe that a woman should hold it in with a "plug" the "plug" can also cause an infection this is why I perfer having a pad were the means of blood collection is on outside and I won't get sick over it. plus more conveniant and dont have to insert anything. I'd rather have a small blood spot in underwear from were blood missed pad then get sick with tss.

I like them because the top is rounded and the cotton is inside the applicator. With the other brands, the cotton is on the outside and it is uncomfortable when inserting. But, to each is own. Also, the plastic applicators are biodegradable just like the cardboard ones.

I've tried a few different types, but I would always wind up going back to the good 'ol tampax tampons. I just seemed to like them best. :)

I personally can't use any type of tampons. When I was a teenager, I tried to use them but got deathly ill. I went to my family doctor and he told me I had Toxic Shock Syndrome. He told me that I should use nothing but pads from here on in.
If you can use them, that is great!
Good luck to you!
