The explanation is really simple, really!

Okay, take a look at the mystic ball chart right now. Take a look at the numbers 0, 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, and 81. They are all the same symbol, right? And they are all multiples of 9! Now, before doing anything, just click on the mystic ball. You'll notice that the symbol that pops up is the same symbol that the numbers mentioned above show. Click on the blue link to try it all again. You should get another sheet with different symbols. Now, look at the very same numbers that you looked at before. They all share the same symbol, but now it is a different one, right?

This is the trick. No matter what number you choose from 0 to 99, the final answer will always be a multiple of 9. Try it out yourself! Go through each number and figure out what the final number of each number would be. Figure out what the final symbol would be, too. You will see that no matter what number you choose, the same symbol will keep popping up.

If you want the equation, it would be 10a + b - (a+b). 'a' represents the first digit of the number you chose, and 'b' represents the second digit of the number you chose. '10a + b' represents the number as a whole (for example, let's choose the number 32. a = 3, b = 2. 10(3) + 2 = 32. Make sense?). the '- (a+b)' part represents the time when you add the digits together and subtract it from the original number to get your final answer. After reducing the equation, you get 9a, which is why the answers all come out to be a multiple of 9.

Hopefully this makes sense!

this works because they take all the possible answers that there can be like 16 1+6=7 16-7=9 and the symbol for that matches the answer of 27 2+7=9 27-9=18 they have all the numbers matched up so they have the same symbols and they figured out every possibility so 10 1+0=10 10-1=9
11 1+1=2 11-2=9
12 1+3=3 12-3=9 14 1+4=5 14-5=9 15 1+5=6 15-6=9 16 1+6=7 16-7=9 17 1+7=8 17-8=9 18 1+8=9 18-9=9 19 1+9=10 19-10=9 20 2+0=2 20-2=18 21 2+1=3 21-3=18 see the pattern when you have the numbers 10-19 they equal the number 9 when you're done with the subtraction 20-29 they have the number 18 30-39 27 40-49 36 50-59 have the number 45 60-69 have the number 54 70-79 have 63 80-89 have 72 90-99 have the number 81 if you think about it they are are multiples of 9 9*1=9 9*2=18 9*3=27 9*4=36 9*5=45 9*6=54 9*7=63 9*8=72 9*9=81 they throw the same symbol in random places just to throw you off so you don't suspect it and throws you off of your suspicion check ya later ♥

Think of a two digit number xy. Well, the value of the number is actually 10x + y, but it is written xy. When you subtract x and y from xy, the remaining number will be

10x + y - x - y =
10x - x =
9x.

So as you can see, all numbers which is divisible by 9 (0, 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81), has the same symbol attached to them.

The symbol it shows appears in many numbers... ALL the numbers from 10-99 result in the flower shape (or whatever symbol happens to show up when you try).
