Short answer is, some folks, out of necessity or desire, grow up faster than others. It's good that you've seen fit to be mature so quickly, but the truth is, a lot of folks are still keen on, if not entirely obsessed with, their childhood and teenage toys....
And I'm saying this as someone who still remembers his old Atari 2600 and Intellivision primitive video games a bit too fondly. :p

i'm 14, i don't have an iPod, mp3, or a myspace nor do i desire to have one. the only thing is iPods are very nifty if you really love music because you don't have to carry around a bunch of cds. myspaces are a waste of time people are bored and it helps to entertain them and keep them updated on whats happening in ppl's lives. i'm not against nor for any of those things but anyway...

I don't think it is just teenagers obsess w/these things. I like my iPod and mp3's and MySpace is ok too. Some people just like to have fun and share their fun w/others... that is what MySpace is about. My iPod... I like to listen to music and I can take it with me :)

Just a fad like all else, well actually I don't think ipods are a fad I like them, they are a great way to listen to music. But myspace is just a silly fad that will lose its steam in a year probably!

I'm 19 and this is the extreme Tech stuff I can do. I would like a Mp'3 for my car so I don't have to search though the my car for the other cassette.

Well myspace I agree it's not my thing. But I LOVE music, so for me an Ipod was like heaven on earth, lol!!!

I don't get it either.
I'm not OBSESSED, but it is nice to have an iPod, and a myspace to keep in contact with friends that I don't see that often.
Its a trend, and trends fade. There will be something new in a couple of years, trust me.

i like ipods cuz i get to listen to the music that i downloaded and don't get the other songs that i don't want on the CD's. same for mp3's
and myspace i don't know

i think they r obssessed bcuz its the newest item out there and like everybody wants to have it. i dont have those things yet, but maybe in the future i will get myself a nice ipod. take care

Because it's a new technology, so this generation has a tool to define itself, seperate itself from the previous generation. It happens in every generation. It makes them feel cool, like they belong in the tech society. Makes them feel important and linked. Heck, I'm dating myself here.....but I remember how cool i thought I was when I got my first compact stereo, over the last generations mono consoles.....lol.......It's normal....their kids will do the same with something completely different.
