Monkey balls in northern Thailand. I also like fish heads and rice, but remember mostly an Army party I attended in Germany and when the trout arrived on my plate whole, I plucked out the eye and ate it reminded of those yawning fishheads of the Nam era, and this wimpy officer's wife sitting across from me almost passed out.

When I lived in Nova Scotia my landlord caught a huge eel in the lake. He immediately skinned it by nailing its head to a tree, cut the skin just below its head all the way around, and then sliced it right down to the tail. It was squirming as he pulled the skin off from head to tail with pliers. There was slime flying everywhere. It was still moving when he threw it whole onto the coals at the edge of the campfire. He then pulled it out, cut a chunk off and told me to try it. It tasted terrible and was really rubbery and I couldn't finish it. It was disgusting and I couldn't stop thinking about this squirmy, slimy thing nailed to the tree. Gross.
