If humans continue to exist by then, then i believe there will still be religion on earth. By religion, i don't necessarily mean the religions that we have now. It may not even be outwardly manifested by a church. It might simply be a guide to existence, a set of guidelines that would point out what to value and what to believe. We always need to believe something. Even the belief that there is nothing worth believing is still in itself a belief. And once a belief acquires sufficient following, it may become religion.

Religion is about Hope in something other than our limited self. There will always be a need for hope. But there will be a time when hope will fail and religion will have no basis for existence. It will be at the end when Jesus returns and everyone will stand before the judgment seat of Christ and if our names are not listed in the Lambs book of life we will be separated from God forever in a place some believe doesn't exist- Hell. And in Hell there is no Hope or religion. And those who stay with God will be in heaven will have no need for hope because heaven is our ultimate hope. There will be no religion in heaven; we will just be in the presence of the Almighty creator.

I don't think there will be any people on the earth in a thousand years and that will probably be BECAUSE of religion.

Yes, There will be. People all have a void in there existence that they seek religion to fill. We all seek answers to life's questions - how we came to be, why we feel, what we should do. The only true way to find those answers is in belief in God. I found those answers in Jesus Christ. I believe that he holds the reason of existence, and that He will be for eternity.

As long as there are human beings on this planet in 1000 yrs, there will be hope, faith, strength, courage, and belief, those things could be called religion.

Yes, but hopefully we will have learned by then that it is o.k. if
people have different religions and there can be more than one
way to god. The Americans have the Great Spirit, Christians have
Jesus Christ and God, the Islamists have Allah, the Buddhists have,.... well, i guess that one is obvious,........ etc. etc. etc.....
Is it not possible that all of these are the same God and that he
presented himself to different cultures in ways in which they could understand???
