There is no substitute for Tampax brand...Playtex, Kotex and the others don't stop leaks the way Tampax does. I won't use any other brand.

The best tampons Ive ever used was Tampax pearl, but playtex is second best in my opinion.

I like the original OB tampons, without an applicator. I know a lot of women think they're messy. I like the fact I have no applicator to dispose of and they offer great protection! I have use Playtex. They're OK in a pinch, but I prefer OB.
