Why do people play videogames? I mean when you get rid of the system, you lose all that stuff you did on the system. You basically waste your life. If you are that bored, go meditate or someting, everyone should do that anyways. That's why our world is messed up

you can lift weights if you are that bored. go play football if you want to be competitive. don't be fat and lazy. if you want better hand eye coordination, go shoot a gun

I like the challenge of Halo 2 and can't wait for Halo 3. Halo 2 tournaments are the best. Who cares about the eye hand coordination, i like to join teams of 5 or more and strategize on how to eliminate the enemy.
And in response to us doing 'other' things in life that are, shall we say meaningful, my response is that in a thousand years, no one will even know that you existed, your life is meaningless by definition, so playing video games is no different than playing games outside,...which i like to do too.

We'll it's true that you loose all the resources in a game when you quit playing, but that's equally true with life. When your life ends you loose all your money and possessions. That doesn't mean lifes not worth living. The pleasure is in the journey and the relationships we build together.
See this quote by American Buddhist Alan Watts:
"We could say that meditation doesn't have a reason or doesn't have a purpose. In this respect it's unlike almost all other things we do except perhaps making music and dancing. When we make music we don't do it in order to reach a certain point, such as the end of the composition. If that were the purpose of music then obviously the fastest players would be the best. Also, when we are dancing we are not aiming to arrive at a particular place on the floor as in a journey. When we dance, the journey itself is the point, as when we play music the playing itself is the point. And exactly the same thing is true in meditation. Meditation is the discovery that the point of life is always arrived at in the immediate moment.”

In answer to your many revisions people play video games as an escape from a mundane reality or to act out things which they could never do legally (the GTA series). Personally i play them cos they're a lot of fun.

everyone has diff rent ways to entertain them selves. just because some one wants to sit down and play a game, does not mean they are going to waste away. limit the time you spend on the games. ma-by people think yoga and meditating is a waste pf life. respect people and respect what they enjoy. this is why we have freedom!

i was going to say "simple minds, simple pleasures"
then i read the rest of your question. you're not thinking too clearly if you're going to suggest firing a gun as a recreation for the teenage masses. just not right at all.
please think through your suggestions to their probable consequence before you type it up and put it in a forum like this. lest you appear dull witted

It develops good hand eye coordination, and well it's entertaining, if your good then you gain a sense of accomplishment, and if you have friends you have a healthy competitive aspect.
