Slavery still exists, all over the world. Those who say otherwise are niave, and ill-informed. Just because it has been outlawed doesn't mean that it itsn't there. Speeding is outlawed, piracy is outlawed, it exists. There are countries in Africa where slavery runs rampant. Consider that.

Slavery in the sense of indentured servitude does still exist in the world. 27 million people qualify as slaves -- more so than at any other time in history. People in Mauritania, Brazil, India, and even in the United States among others are bound, if not by the whip, by the inability to make more that a wage to live on. Yes sex slavery or prostiotion. A lot girls as young as 6 or 7 are forced into this because they need to provide for their familes. This happens in Thailand, Eastern Europe, Africa, Latin America, Asia, and even in the US.

every country... one was reported here in the media in S.Florida. The couple was from India or Pakistan and they brought a girl over to be their cleaning slave. They didn't pay her and didn't let her leave the house or talk to anyone else. They were not kind to her either.
Sex slave trafficking is also a major problem in Mexico. Girls are kidnapped from their cities by gangs and are kept drugged up as slaves. Europe has slaves from Bosnia and Yugoslovia. Anywhere and everywhere even here in the U.S.

sex slaves are sold all over the world, many die and are treated like they are animals. (animals shouldn't be treasted that way either) also african families, and so on. like the first answer, we are all slaves to something, reduce the temtation to do those things and you've helped make the world (and maybe the bill) a little better also many pieces of your clothing were made by younggirls from china when the parents had to many children. the girls are sent off to factories on islands and work day and night making things for you and me. i am now careful what i buy to make sure its made in the USA or in Europe (sometimes in indonisa Bcuz of the rents)
