I think lobby the government to release the patent stranglehold that parmacuetical companies have on the drugs needed; they are making the cost of treatment prohibitively expensive.
Also helping to reduce poverty will improve standards of living and may discourage women from turnung to prostitution. Agan pressuring the government for increased aid and debt relief could assist this process

Well, to start with, George W. could start funding African clinics that provide birth control and STD prevention education to thousands of people, instead of refusing to fund any clinic that offers any advice other than abstinence-only. Perhaps our communities can rally together to get this changed - although there are so many people out there advocating abstinence-only (a proven failure) that who knows if that would work?
