Our Dodge caravan has good battery power to crank the engine, but it doesn't turn over. We suspect the 0-2 sensor because we have been using a lot of gas lately, and we thought that maybe it wasn't sending the right signals to get the right fuel mix. So maybe it was going out, and now is out.

The only way a oxegen sensor would cause a no start is if it is a heated one and the heater is grounded causing the computor fuse to blow, but then engine would still crank but not start, no crank can be starter, neutral switch on trans, electrical connections, ignition switch or security problems

No the o2 sensor will not cause a no start problem.Until the engine reaches operating temperature the computer is in "barefoot" mode.Once the car starts it may run poorly and yes,it will burn more fuel if the o2 is bad.I'm in agreement with the previous answer.Check your ignition system from switch to starter. Also check Websters definition of the word "dodge". TO AVOID/STAY AWAY FROM.......

No, the O2 sensor will go into a loop mode and your car will use a set variable that is programed into the computer. It will ignor the false reading from the O2 cell and your vehicle will still run fine but your fuel economy will be compromised.

LOTS OF THNGS IN LINE TO CAUSE THIS PROBLEM FIRST CHECK THE STARTER SWITCH THEN THE SOLENOID THEN THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH THIS SWITCH IS UNDER THE CAR OR UNDER THE DASH THEN THE STARTER IT SELF .---MAKE SURE ALL WIRES ARE PLUGGED INTO SOLENOID AS THEY ARE SOME TIMES PUSH ON AND FALL LOOSE ---

YOU CAN FIND THE PROBLEM WITH A TEST LIGHT AND ANY REPAIR MANUAL THE AIR SENSOR DOESNT SHUT DOWN THE STARTER BUT ON NEWER RIGS THERE ARE OTHER THINGS THAT WILL THERE ARE RELAYS ON THE RIG THAT ARE IN THE FUSE BOX THAT CAN CAUSE NO START PROBLEMS BUT CHECK THE BATT CONECTIONS FIRST THEN THE SOLENOID BEST OF LUCK JFB

No you can unplug the o2 sensor and it will still run. But you may want to look at the MAP sensor that will cause you to not be able to start you car. Its easy to find out if its the MAP sensor unplug it and see if it starts if it dose it will run rich but when you plug the MAP sensor back in if it dies then its bad
