how could the authors of the bible have known this. chapter one says it was totally covered in water in the begining.if scientist can prove it was, then the bible is true.YOU SEE SOMEONE WOULD HAVE HAD TO TELL THEM.. [GOD ].

ok first of all just because one thing the bible says is true,that wouldnt make the entire thing true and second of all,originally the Earth was a ball of molten rock that cooled down.water didnt come around till later(im not sure how though)

There is not enough water on the earth to cover all the earths landmasses. You'd need to flatten out all the landmasses to the same elevation to get the oceans to cover everything.

You can't use a bible passage to prove the validity of a bible passage, you need real proof, not just ink on paper.

The creation story is a metaphorical separation of opposites, not a literal history.

Maybe if god = plate tectonics...but not sure that the Bible was really the first Earth Science text book....:-)

no it doesnt. islands are formed by underwater volcanos. islands certainly didnt pop out of nowhere. they just take time to be created. its not as if god had a thought to just drop a chunk of land onto the earth and boom theres land
