Like the answers above hinted, it's best to install Apache - it's so much easier to work with. Install PHP can be best achieved by installing a WAMP (stands for Windows+Apache+MySQL+PHP) software. After installing the WAMP, you have Apache, PHP, and MySQL configured to work together out-of-the-box. It's the best solution, since you will probably need MySQL as well at some point.
For a comparison of some of the available WAMPs, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_WAMPs

You don't mention your problem.

Dump IIS, use apache, it's not as difficult as you think.

When setup Php it worked fine except i couldn't get it and MySQL to work together. I followed instructions at the link below and it all started to work.

you're able to try this and, definite, you will additionally want information superhighway-server utility together with Apache, except you have already got something in-built. no remember if it rather is nicely worth it whilst information superhighway get right of entry to is so rapid and information superhighway hosting low-priced is yet another remember. i do no longer difficulty using my dev setup to any extent further - I merely use a information superhighway dev server.
