Alexandre had a battle with Poros, the king of India. Alexandre wan. When he asked Poros: Now, how do I treat you? Poros answer: like a king! So it be, Alexandre replied, except, you will give more rights to your people! The battle was around Indus river, which means Alexandre did not go to what is India now, but reached Pakistan. Ark Pals are considered to be influenced or even to be of Greek origin! Alexandre did not go to the regions of today's India, but Greeks before him reached to South India, led by Zeus, Dionysus, Hercules, hundreds of years before Alexandre!

India is and was not a small country like England. Its vast expanse is often unimaginable. From the dawn of civilization India was subdivided in several monarchies and democracies. When Alexander the Great came to India he never crossed the Jhilum river which was the western border of the then kingdom of Magadha ruled by Nanda dynasty. This region is in present day Punjab which is the western border state of India. Alexander conquered Taxila (presently in Afghanistan) and the north-western part of India and the size of that land was of one tenth of the expanse of the whole ancient India. These regions are all now outside of the present day India and belong to either Pakistan or Afghanistan.

No he did not.. atleast not present day India. he was stopped at present day Jhelum river. He just proceeded down the Indus and then turned back home. Even his successor in Asia - Selecus got thrashed by ChandraGupta of the Maurya dynasty (Ashoka the Great was his grandson).
