Can i lock my website pages for free?

I have a website which has a page i want to lock and has to have a username and password to unlock, How do it do that for free?

Search for "script php password" and you'll find it for free.
I'm not sure you can do this with HTML.

you can't in a free geocities account. they will delete you if they catch you
