I think the teething tablets are great... Anything that they can chew on let him chew on it... The washcloth is a great idea, and you don't have to wet it afterwords... it will soften up.

I would hold a baby tooth brush and let my little girls chew on it, or a washcloth but NOT from the freezer directly to the baby's mouth for obvious reasons, I also let both of them chew on a teething ring that I put in the freezer, LOVED that, I do NOT recommend using the baby orajel just from a personal experience, I put it on her teeth and she HATED the taste and took her hands and rubbed her mouth and it got in her eyes! Not fun! There are plenty of things you can look up on the Internet as well. Good LUCK!

Sounds like that may be the start of teething. Lots of cold teething rings and soft toys for him to chew on will help with a bit or relief. I found Hylands teeting tables did help. The wet washcloth was a blessing too! Worked wonders with my children.

it definately sounds like he is teething. ive never used the hylands teething tablets, what i do with my daughter is when she gets really fussy from the pain i give her tylenol every 4 hours and i also give her baby orajel, that works. keep a couple teething rings on hand so that you can rotate them out through the fridge so he always has a cold one. some other symptoms he may get while teething are diarhea, fever, runny nose, and even diaper rash if he gets diarhea. he may or may not get those symptoms, just know that it is normal if he does.

Ah, the joys of teething! My nine month has her two bottom ones and now we are awaiting the first of the top. She gets very drooly, munches on her fingers. Yes, everything goes in the mouth, but that's also how babies figure out their world. what better way to better understand a book or a bunny ear than munching on it?!? She also tends to feel a little feverish. She likes the toy that has water in it so you can get it cold in the 'fridge and then there's one that has a little battery in it so when she bites down it vibrates - that feels good on her gums, too. When it's REALLY bad I give her the smallest does of infant Tylenol and that helps in a pinch. I haven't asked her Dr. about anything like ambasol to numb her gums but I've heard that helps, too.

My son loved chewing on dill pickle halves when he was teething, he would also end up with and ear infection with every tooth. My daughter would have a runny nose when she was cutting teeth. alot of children have cold symptons when teething.
Beef jerky is also good for teething the non spicy ones.
a dry washcloth works.

Well!,I don't know about the tablets, but you can go buy a teething ring with water in it.You put it in the freezer, also to check if it is teething or just like putting things in his mouth. You can rub one of your fingers on his gum line.If you feel a tooth coming through, then it is teething and if you don't feel any teeth cutting in then it him just wanting to put things in his mouth.
