Does anyone know someone who collects, or would be interested in purchasing a collection of 1700 sets of salt and pepper shakers? Besides E-bay, what would be the best way to sell these? I inherited them, and I'm ready to get rid of them! Please help!

You could look for collectors and antique dealers in your area that specialize in Kitchenalia. Out of that many i am sure there are some very old ones in there if they belonged to your grandma. My granny had a collection of 800..not as grand of yours of course..lol..but still sizeable..and i grew up looking at these things through the glass doors of the cabinet she had them in. She finally got tired of them and sold them in a garage sale!!!!! most of them went for less than a dollar a set!!! I am positive that many of them were worth more than that since she had been collecting since her childhood.
So i would try first to find one or two people who would be happy to come to you and look at them and give you an idea of the worth of some of the more unique ones. Don't at first try to get rid of them lock, stock and barrel. There could be some real treasures in there.
Just Google for collectors and dealers for your area first.

first of all omg.ok know that i have that out of my system,i would consider opening a web site of you own and try to sell them that way.may take you a while to do it but even if you get a few at a time on there and someone figures out what your doing they will come back to see what else you have.there are a but load of people who collect those dam things so be patience some may bring you some really good money.research every one i bet you got at least one winner in there.hooray it ll be like hitting the lottery
