2 examples from Switzerland v Korea:

- After the Swiss won against Korea, the camera showed a Swiss and Korean holding a conversation.

- (same game) the referee made a controversial call the Koreans surrounded 2 referees to debate about it.

With all these teams from all over the world, how do they talk to each other? It's hard to believe that absolutely everyone is fluent in one particular language.

The official language of the Fifa World Cup is English. All leading referees must know some english to participate in the Cup.

Depending on the teams they may just talk their own countries language....Argentina and Mexico would speak the same language of Spanish or a variation of it...Ghana and The Czec Republic would definately not comunicate in the same language...But in the game there is little verbal communicatoin there is really just body language..The Game isnt a social..Its Business

it depends, sometimes a swiss player plays on a Korean team (on the clubs) or viceversa, and they know each other from there.... you have to realize that Koreans also play in England, Swizz, Deutschland etc so they have to know a bit of foreign languages to comunicate themselfs with, but if not you use your body language and hand language, i think we all understand that
