Call your local scrapyard. They will advise as to the current price they pay. They will also advise as to the price paid for stripped or unstripped wire.
Good luck with the sale of your wire.

"Romex" 12/3 has gone from $25/250 ft roll to over $100 for the same roll in our area (missouri), since Hurricane Katrina... we didnt receive any damage this far north.. .but those areas that did, are sucking all the building supplies down into their areas, raising prices all over.
If you want to recycle some copper wire, then contact any metal recycler... like some place that accepts aluminum cans. The price you get will vary, depending on where you live.
Have Fun!

Scrap price on copper wire is $2 USD per pound more or less depending on your location. New and salvaged usable wire is higher.

copper wire isn't worth that much because...
- it isn't sold in jewerly stores
- that is the material they use to make the least valued form of US money, the penny.
- they wouldn't use gold for electrisity, ti would be to much for many products
wire is worth less than 3 dollars a roll
