AS A RETIRED MARINE WHO HAS BEEN THERE I CAN SAY THAT IF THE POLITICIANS GET OUT OF THE MARINES WAY AND JUST LET THEM DO THERE JOB THIS WAR WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ALREADY, BUT WHEN YOU ADD POLITICS TO COMBAT IT WILL LAST FOREVER, I KNOW THERE ARE SOME OF US OUT THERE THAT ACTUALLY REMEMBER VIETNAM AND IT LOOKS THE SAME TO ME, JUST NO JUNGLE,, ANY BODY AGREE

wow you sound like my uncle! its scary! he says the same things! he is so mad right now at the politicians and the president for keeping our troops in there for so long. i personnaly think its stupid for us th still be there we should have been out a long time ago!

Got to agree with you on that one. Iraq is just another Vietnam. And yes, cut the politics and this war would have been over! It's as if all the politicians (especially the President) need some type of glory. Like, "Hey everybody, look what I did for this war!"

Seems to me the media is playing a large part on not just the perception of the war but on the politics involved in it, too.
As far as your comparison to Vietnam is concerned, I have to strongly disagree with you there.
