A 12 year old is 5'4 between 100-120 LBS and has not gotten her period.Aunt on the dad's side got it at 8.grandma's sister on dad's side got hers at 10. Adopted so don't know the mom's side at all only the dad's

It usually comes about the time your mom's did. (Which you said you don't know)
Doctors usually don't think too much of it unless your period does not come by the time you are 16.
It will come when it comes, relax and enjoy not having to worry about cramps and while you still have the ability to wear light colored pants without worry.

Girls who are lean/very athletic may take longer to menstrate due to lower body fat which is one of the factors that triggers the beginning. Genetics also play a role in this. Also, once her period starts (especially if she's lean, but even if she's not) it could be irregular, stop for a long amount of time (3-12 months) before starting again. The cycle may not be normalized until 18-21 years old.

As long as she has it by age 17 she is completely healthy and there is no cause for concern. In the meantime, tell her to enjoy being young and menstrual-free.

I would say 13. That is a common age. Tell her not to worry it will come and then she will wish it never had

dont know but if it doesnt come by 16-17 she may have a serious medical problem and may be sterile without being able to have kids

hun just hang tight yeh, ur only 12 enjoy life without it seriously once u get it u will hate it!! coz its makes u feel sick and grumpy gives u pimples and hair where u don't want hair!! it will come when your body is ready!!

be happy you don't have it yet, i've had mine since i was 11 . believe me after having 5 days a month, month after month, year after year it will be soooooooo annoying!!!!!!
