Clairvoyance is defined as a form of extra-sensory perception whereby a person perceives distant objects, persons, or events, including "seeing" through opaque objects and the detection of types of energy not normally perceptible to humans (i.e. radio waves). Typically, such perception is reported in visual terms, but may also include auditory impressions (sometimes called clairaudience) or kinesthetic impressions

In spirituality, a medium or spirit medium (plural mediums) is an individual who claims to have the ability to receive messages from spirits (discorporate entities), or claims that he or she can channel such entities — that is, write or speak in the voice of these entities rather than in the medium's own voice.

Actually a clairvoyant is supposed to mean one that can "see" things in a visual way. They see pictures. The pictures themselves can be actual or symbolic.

A medium which others have already explained communicates with spirits such as: those who have deceased, spirit guides, angels, etc.

A medium can have several different ways of communicating. A medium can receive the information via clairvoyance (through sight), clairaudience (through hearing), or clairscientenient (through smells), and so on. Some might have a combination of several ways of receiving the information, some only have one way.

John Edwards tends to describe pictures and symbols a lot doesn't he? He is a mediium that has clairvoyant abilities.

Does that make sense to you?

A clairvoyant is someone who can predict the future, like a psychic. A medium is someone who can channel and communicate with those who have passed; dead people apparently use the medium to communicate with living persons.

A clairvoyant sees spirits. A medium communicates with them by various means either with tarot, crystal balls ect. Or they just see and hear them. A person that hears spirits is a clairaudiant.

Clairvoyant loosely translated means clear vision
clairaudiant: clear hearing.
