Why do men feel the need to?

...always act so tough and not sensitive all the time? I have it when a guy starts acting all tough for no reason. Like they have to talk so loud and with an angry voice, its as if they were concerned about their sexuality...?

I mean, we all know, including women, that they are just ACTING like that and in the inside they are feeling differently.. I just looks very bad..

This is a really good question and thought. I think men overdo their masculinity due to insecurity. They want to appear to be what they are not and are pretending to be what they want to be in the meantime.

b/c most men have an egotistical urge to feel the best and they express themselves as tough b/c that's the way it has always been. you go back to the middle ages and "manly men" were believed to save damsels in distress and sword fight and what not. over the years they have developed this stereo typical idea of what a "real man" should be and over hundreds of years of that being the tradition any man who strays otherwise is believed to be weak and vulnerable and a man's ego simply says that's a no-no. this is still the "standard" today for the most part b/c not enough men have deviated from the "standard" to really make a difference and say, "on the inside, i'm a sensitive guy" and change the way that men view other men.

Depends of how you were raised. My husband was raised in a very very machista family I don't know if you know what machista is, well what it is is that the only one that has the last world is the men and the women will always be stupid and wrong. Thanks God my husband didn't follow the same steps that his dad teach him. But, when his sister go and visit me, he acts like I am the one that does all the house work and pretends that he don't do anything. I don't say nothing I just make fun of him. But yes I completely agree with you about they always try to act so thought like they were unsure of their sexuality. It was a really nice question, also what varies is from culture to culture.

Such are not living right is probably the problem....and ofcourse there is the age of the person to be considered and having nothing to say because no ones listening and if such are talking of a dis-satisfaction on a given point it's because 'they' aren't getting any in the right way ( via marrige) ....or for the same reason in any endevors they may be undertaking....

Largely overcompensation for lack of self esteem. A confident man can act sensitive or strong as the situation dictates.

It stems from the laying out of territory and is a retro thing that is still previlent in the make up of humans---compare this to the dominant gorilla's chest beating actions---it's meant to say Here I am--This space is Mine--I won't tolerate competitions--Me me me--and the sad thing is--it still is accepted behavior for the most part

men view their emotions with some anxiety, because they don't exercise them appropriatley or too much, as is the case with 'camp' people. Besides would you want a really weepy man to come home to?
