I see this in stores selling mowers. What does it mean for 2-in-1 and 3-in-1?

A 2-in or 3-1 is a mower capable of mowing, mulching, shredding or chipping, and sometimes vacuuming

ALL MOWERS VACUUM TO SOME EXTENT. A 3 in 1 mower can exhaust grass to the rear,or to the side in addition to mulching. A 2 in 1 mower does only 2 of the above 3 items.

It means the mower can do 2 or 3 different things.
I am no expert, but it has something to do with the way it can cut the grass, like 2 in 1 = mulch and regular cut.
If it also has an added attachement to bag the grass, I think that counts as a 3 in 1.

The meaning behind 2 in1 and 3 in 1 is the amout of processes the mower does. (ie...mulches, chips, shreds, vacums.)
So a 2 in 1 mower does 2 of those things, and so on and so on. I have a 3 in 1 mower.
