It depends on the make and model of the car, the size of the tank and where the sensor is in the tank. It could be low like one gallon or it could be as much as five to six gallons depending upon the vehicle. A Honda Civic will have less fuel left than a Hummer when the light comes one for obvious reasons, I hope.

It all depends on what kind of car it is. Many cars are different because they have different size gas tanks. Try not to let it get too low because your gas tank pickup in the tank will start picking up more of the impurities that settle on the bottom of your tank over time. That can cause your fuel filter to plug up and possibly an injector if your car has port injection.

My 94 Van started flashing at 1/8 of a tank and I got 3 miles out of it

Depends on the car- in small to midsize cars, it's usually 2 gallon; bigger cars or SUVs (gas hogs that they are) it's usually 4. Best way to know though, is check the manual on your car.

In most cars its anywhere between 3 to 5. In dodge models- 6.5 while in ford 2.3

PS to test your car, wait till the light comes on and drive till none is left, be sure to have a couple gallons on reserve.

it really depends on what kind of car we are talking about. but most cars have 2.5 to 3.5 gallons when the light comes on
