#1 RB is the game

RB is the best position to select right off the bat since they accumulate the most points by having the highest number of opportunities to get the ball. Also, they have fewer possibilities to actually lose points during a game as well.

Regarding which RB, the top three (in yardage, TDs, and apparent experience) are LaDainian Tomlinson, Shaun Alexander, and Larry Johnson. Of the three, I would select LJ, Alexander, and LT in that order due to their last season performances and seemingly increasing capacity on the field.

LJ continues to explode on the field when he took over duties for Priest Holmes. In fact, many could argue that LJ will become the Chiefs (and perhaps the NFL's) top back. Alexander is coming off of back to back monster seasons after enjoying a couple earlier seasons of impressive (and improving) play. LT is a force of nature on the field and still believes he can do better (which is incredible for a player of his caliber). However, his hindrance will be having Philip Rivers at QB (who is unproven in the league and therefore questionable against defenses), bringing more of a defensive focus onto LT.

Depending on the draft order, go for a top RB. They eat up yardage on both part of the offense, rushing and receiving, plus they have a more formidable chance of scoring a touchdown than a receiver, thus scoring more points for the week. If you have the 1st or 2nd pick, go for S. Alexander or L. Johnson. The rest of the top 10 or 12 (1st Round) should be from Tomlinson, Portis, T. Barber, E. James, Ru. Johnson, L. Jordan, S. Jackson, P. Manning, Ro. Brown, or C. Williams.

Assuming you have the very first pick (or a very early pick), you should definitely pick up a RB as opposed to a WR. RBs have much more potential for giving you more points each week.

That being said, I'd choose L.T. if I had the chance. He's more of a complete RB. (Plus, Alexander is on Madden's cover this year and is going to get hurt!) When drafting for Fantasy Football, you MUST put aside your favorite teams/players and choose the best possible fantasy team for yourself.

GO STEELERS!

If you get the number 1 pick overall it should be a decision between 3 players- all running backs-

Shaun Alexander. Ladainlian Tomlinson and Larry Johnson- I'd take Alexander- I like LT but with Brees not there time will tell whether they will have the same success

Yeah I wouldn't go for steve smith unless ur pickin like 10-12 and even then id prolly go for a QB. But the guy above me has it right. WHoever said Michael VIck is crazy and obviously doesn't know fantasy football (you could probably get vick in like the 4th round)

If you're 1st you need to take a RB...Alexander, Johnson, LT, Edge,....if your'e down towards the bottom of the 1st round, may want to look at Manning, and then come around to get an RB in the second

First pick? Alexander. I like to take rb's with my first two picks. Got Carson Palmer in the 7th round last year. That won't happen again.
