the x1600 is about the same performance wise as your 6600. i just installed one in my friends pc. the x800 and x850 will kill the x1600 and the 6600. i have an x800xt and its pretty good still for being 2 years old.

You pay for high quality. the following is curler Coaster magnate 3 snap shots/Video card (gpu) criteria. Video: Any ATI Radeon™ or GeForce™ 2 with 32MB or higher; or different video card with 32MB and hardware T&L (ATI Radeon™ sixty 4 MB SDR or GeForce™ 2 professional or different video card with sixty 4 MB or extra reminiscence and hardware T&L recommended) Thats no longer a lot criteria there. i imagine maximum snap shots playing cards can run that at the moment. (even alot of onboard ones run that) So if thats all you want the snap shots card for, any low priced ATI radeon or Nvidia geforce card will do. i'm able to't furnish you with any properly playing cards besides the undeniable fact that, as i dont understand what slots your motherboard has free for the snap shots card to bypass in (AGP/PCI/PCI-E?) yet in case you want to spend abit of money on a snap shots card and improve then i'd bypass for the geforce 7300GT or the 7600GS. The 8 sequence are the perfect, and also help directx10 yet i dont see the favor to get those 8 sequence playing cards except your intense about gaming. also yet another difficulty is you means furnish unit (psu). And as i said you suggested it turned right into a dell that's 3 years previous, i'm able to easily about guarentee that the psu properly this second wont be able to handle a respectable snap shots card. that would want to point you'll favor a much better psu (i'd reccomend 12v twin rail - 400w or extra) and also you may want to get them off newegg for $40. (verify the newegg score to stumble on a good one). good makes are hiper, antec, enermax etc...

well i would spring for a x850 because the x1600 is a horrible card imo the only thing it has going for it is PS 3.0 the x850 may only have PS 2.0 but is still a better card.
