yes, use a dwarf pea, or how big is pot? you could use bamboo poles (come in all sizes) in a wig-wam shape or a few upright with netting or string criss-crossed. Keep cutting flowers, smell lovely in house, encourages blooms and keeps down overgrowth.

As you're actually not good with gardening the appropriate component to do could be to purchase the flora now. they are bought particularly fee effectively waiting grown in little pots and many times are available in to nurseries/ backyard centres concerning an identical time because of the fact the bedding does. Plant interior the floor (including some nice copmpost to the planting hollow) no longer in pots as they by no ability seem to do too properly if constrained and supply them a good typical objective feed. while they have complete flowering do no longer pull them out. Wait until the seeds have ripened...they are in pea pods and the pods will dry and pass brown while the seed is ripe....and plant the seeds at once away the place you go with for them to enhance for here 12 months. That way you could have sweetpeas starting to be a lot earlier interior the season and could save an infinite furnish of them going. I do this with mine each and every 12 months, works a take care of :)

Really agree with hipichick-- they have their own season-- which is much earlier than I thought --at the first sign of heat they collapse. -- fall planting might be best- so they can come up when the ground/pot temperature is right. Another annual with flowers that climb much higher is hycinth bean-- fast grower-- up to 15 foot in one season- lots of seeds made to keep for next year or give away to friends-- they do have a fragrance not as strong as sweet pea.
good luck

there are sweet peas and dwarf sweet peas, but even the darf need some kind of trellis to climb on, the standard sweep pea can grow to 15 high if properly nurtured. you can grow the dwarf in containers quite easily.

sweet peas generally need a trellis unless yours are a special compact or bush variety.

if using a container, make sure its nice and deep, they like that.
