how do you center a jpg/gif image for a background picture or wallpaper in html? or to center the image to cover the whole page?

using CSS how can i expand an image to cover the whole web page as a background? or how can i use an image to fit to screen as a wallpaper/background?

In the tag specify which will use the image as a "repeating brick" to fill the background for you.

While you can center a picture with the cell of a table (see codes listed above), that is the only place you can center it. If you are trying to center a picture behind the entire web page as a background, you can't.

Unfortunately HTLM always titles the background picture. There is not option to center, etc. About the only way to center a cakground picture for the whole page would be to create a table that exactly fits the picture, and then create your web page within that table.

You can not fit the picture to the web page. You have to fit the web page to the picture.

there is a way, use css, this will allow you to center an image as the background for your html page.

right click in mouse
select properties
and chose background
and change it
