It has to do with fear of the unknown and fear of what's different. Lack of education and exposure, and preconceived ideas.

Racism and stereotyping is probably a huge factor for a lot of folks. Even so, I love African-American men. I am attracted to men from other races but I have never dated outside my race (not to say I won't). I think this is just because of familiarity. Furthermore, I feel for people who date interracial, they can have a hard time at it. They may have all the neccessities for a good relation but society and family sometimes puts some heavy pressure on them. Relationships are difficult enough but then you have to take on societal racial and cultural issues.

I don't think it's because they're racist. I just think sometimes people have more in common with people of their own race than others outside of them. You can tell if a person is extremely attractive no matter what the race, though. I've never dated a black guy, but there are a lot of very attractive ones out there, especially on the Heat team (no disrespect to their wives). =)

I would never date a black person. I am not attracted to this race whatsoever.

Anyone who thinks they are purely of one race is woefully unaware of the truth (or perhaps overly inbred!).

racism! There's NO excuse. They were raised that way. They have fear of the unknown, and they are scared of what their family and friends will say. why do you ask?

Sounds silly don't it, but it happens. I don't look at the color of the person, I look at the person as themself.
