well at 40 i was able to retire on 47000 a year which makes about 3000 a month after taxes and it works,, i am 45 now

I could be comfortable with two million dollars. I would like to have a nice home, and a brand new car. I could always use more cloths and shoes. I'm not a jewelry person. I'm satisfied with the jewelry I have.

Depends on your liabilities when you retire.
I would say$2,000,000. If you had that and got a 5% return you would receive $100,000 a year

5 Million, I wouldn't be pampered but I could be comfortable enough and could still leave some to my son.
