Because he was an Idiot. Just a guess but I am sure you can work something around it. Even if it is wrong you will get marks for thinking out of the box and you can carry on reading Harry Potter.

Haven't read "The Idiot", but I read "Crime and punishment" and I almost finished "The Brothers Karamazov". . .
