My property value increased but the fault line runs behind my house. It's one of the biggest fault lines in the US/Houston. I was told that if I'm not right atop it, It wouldnt make a difference in value. Well, My driveway is fairly new and we see more cracks each year on our front patio. One house is so F'd up that it looks broken. Are they full of crap?

There are other reasons-- tree roots for instance-- if it's a new house-- the ground hasn't really "settled" yet-- will take years to complete that settling and is related to prep for the sub-division--Ground prep for the driveway and sidewalk also influence cracking-- One more thing-- if you are experiencing drought conditions-- the ground settles differently-- you can hear popping at night as drywall nails move in response-- which will decrease if the ground gets enough water.
good luck

well the fault line may be settling your concrete so if you ever rip it out reinforce your concrete with rebar to prevent it... I'm not saying cracks won't happen, but it will help
