Soft skills refer to the cluster of personality traits, social graces, facility with language, personal habits, friendliness, and optimism that mark people to varying degrees. Soft skills complement hard skills, which are the technical requirements of a job.

Soft skills can also be an important part of the success of an organization. Organizations, particularly those frequently dealing with customers face-to-face, are generally more prosperous if they train their staff to use these skills. For this reason, soft skills are increasingly sought out by employers in addition to standard qualifications.

Common Soft Skills include:

Following common Etiquette
Using appropriate body language such as friendly gestures, head nods, facial expressions, body posture and good eye contact
Using appropriate tone of voice and language
Relating to individuals in common conversation, regardless of interests or background
Making others feel comfortable in situations outside their normal sphere of action
Clear and often persuasive manners of speech

Leadership abilities often fall into the category of Soft skills, as they are more than often acquired through personal experience rather than traditional learning environments.

Soft Skills are those that are not learned at School or elsewhere.
They come with you at birth. You born with them.
It is the way you feel to be and you are.
To develop you need two things:
1) Need.
2) Motivation.
Once you need what you want, it will freely come to you.
They are friendship, dialogue with others, be proactive,
see solutions where others don't see, interact with others,
etc.
You can interact with others by going To Church and Pray
and express to The Lord your feelings as well as the
community you are part of. Also, Help Out the neighbor,
your family. I mean, give others all the love you can.
GOD will see this and as because of you did all in The
Name Of The Highest, He Will Protect You, Guide You And
Love Will Come From Others To You.
You Will Not Only Hold The Soft Skills Also An Everlasting Life.
Love Virgin Mary, Love Jesus, Love God, Love The Holy Trinity,
Love the Family, Love The Friends and Close, Forgive, Pray,
Obey the God's Commandments, Do Aims-giving And In The
Name Of GOD you will have as many you deserve. EVERYTHING.
Amen.

I happen to think they're far more important than the term implies... i.e. the social skills that were deemed so secondary that you didn't even put them on your resume, but were the very thing that allowed you to file away your boss' largest client's birthday and hand him a card that just suited his personality when he walked through the door when he was about to change to a different agency! I'm not so sure that all of the soft skills can be developed... some people are never going to be social animals... really out going... the kind that nurture relationships. Others can be certainly, but they are very under-valued. Get thee to a liberal arts college, GO!

Soft skills are commonly known as skills that deal with people. Yes, you are right soft skills can be developed but you have to really want to change. It takes practice, practice, and more practice. The most valuable soft skill that I think you can learn is empathy, putting yourself in the other's situation.

Soft skills are the expressed in how you behave and interact with others. They are very important if you are to be successful socially. There is no one way to describe soft skills, but it could be things like, working well with others, being diplomatic, good listening skills, good manners, knowing how to behave depending on the situation and who you are in front of. Soft skills are learned.

Soft skills are right brained and based on intuition rather than analog and left brain thinking. Hang out with poets and artists and learn to see the world as they do.
