I know this is gonna set some skaters off....but I can't help it.....it was left wide open.....

Uh...cause it's not a sport.

There are no rules in skateboarding, Nobody wins. There’s no time limit.

When school lets out, and the workday ends, skateboarders drift into skate shops. They slouch on the couch, watching skate videos, play their Tony Hawk games on their PS2/XBox and leaf through copies of Transworld Skateboarding and Thrasher.

Competitions aren’t skateboarding. The stuff you see in skateboarding magazines and videos, none of that stuff takes place in a competition. It’s very rare that skateboarding competitions get any kind of skateboard media coverage, unless they’re big ones where someone is going to win $10,000. ... They just mean very little in the grand scope of things.

Umm...Technically it's not a sport because your not competing with anybody else in a team, so, It's just a hobbie, soccer brings more people together than you shitty skateboarding.
