I have it, I'm just too lazy to actually go shopping though.

yup. ive got one, and im 12 yrs old. all my m8s hav one 2.
symptoms are:
@ if you walk all the way across the shop to feel a mohair jumper and you dont even like it but you just want to see what it feels like, so you can cut it up and use it for making more clothes.
@ if you buy the first red thing you see just because you've got a pair of red shoes that would match it.
@if you feel self conscious if you dont hav the latest fashion that yoy KNEW you should hav bought last time you went shopping (2 hrs ago) and cant possibly wait till your next shopping expedition (in 2 hrs) to get it.
how to beat the shopping bug:
@ only buy something if a) it makes you look better than what you're wearing now or b) you'd rate it above 7 out of 10 AND you have something that will match already.
@ if you still have trouble saying no, wear your nicest outfit thn look at the outfit you want to but. only buy if youd wear it instead of the outfit you've got on jut now.
hope that helps hunni!

Do you ever buy clothes or shoes in the wrong size just because you like them or they're on sale? Do you ever buy gifts for people because you don't want something but it's 'too good to pass up?' Do you go into your favorite stores more once a week? Do you spend money that you don't have (ie credit card debt that isnt for an emergency, hot checks, etc)? Do you always spend more money than you mean to?
If you do these things and still don't see the problem with it- then you might have a problem.

I am Bi-Polar, and one of the symptoms is compulsive shopping. Some bi-polars will shop so much it puts their family in the poor house. I have been known to go to the store and blow 50 or 60 dollars on stuff that, when I get home I'm like, "what exactly did I buy?".

It is an illness just like drug addiction. You shop for things you don't need. Spend more money that you make. Hid things from people. Use credit cards to pay off other credit cards. You have withdrawals if you are not spending money and feel anxious if you haven't been out shopping in a few days.

You feel good when you buy nice things for yourself during shopping.
It only becomes an addiction when you can't control your spending limit and the shopping frequency. Shopping once or twice a week is fine, but shopping almost every day is not..

You get bored so you go off and buy something..you feel really good about it but after a few hours/days you start to feel guilty. You have more than 1 credit card maxed out! you lie to you partner/family/friends about the new clothes/items you have.
best way to get out of it is to cut up your cards and find an inexpensive hobby. Whenever I get an urge to splash the cash on something I don't really need I paint instead and sell the paintings, a much better feeling!

I am addicted to e-bay. You only have to view my house to see the useless items i have bought with the excuse they are vintage or collectibles.

You shop every day, and buy stuff you don't need, and get a thrill from it.
Its pretty common! XD
