I work in a flooring store, we sell a granite cleaner called a poultice. It is a powder that you put on the granite and grind the powder and it is supposed to lift the stain. Since granite is a natural stone, it has to be sealed with a stone sealer. Why granite is glossy, it has been finely sanded to a shine.

Are you sure it's 100% granite and not concrete (as most front porches are)? If it is, then water cannot stain it. The only thing that can stain granite is blood (really!). If it is granite then you may have mildew or mold growing on the granite in which case try bleach to get rid of it... Good luck.

DO NOT USE CLR. It will etch into your granite. Also, don't use anything with acid or that is abrasive.

Clean the granite really good with regular soap and water - nothing special. Next, try a good granite sealer and then buff buff buff. Granite should be sealed anyway to avoid stains, it is very porous.

Go to a big, wholesale type, tile store; they should be able to point you in the right direction of the best products.
