I think if he's really your friend and knows you, he won't think your doing it to be mean. He will understand your trying to see his sexuality from a different point of view. Be Honest.

Get the movie "American Pie" and watch it with him. Then very casually jump into that conversation with him after the movie. If he's a friend he wouldn't be offended. Who knows it may turn out to be a fun conversation. This is what I would do to lighten the stress of this subject. Also stick to the questions you want answered. Be light about. The truth will come out.

i tin u can try 2test him out by askin sum sexuality topics..if he replys u bk..try 2tok further into the details..i'm quite used 2speakin such topics if my guy friends doesn't mind raising the topics up...but MAKE sure the topics doesn't sound too sleazy and dirty..else he'll get mistaken abt u..in case ya a gal..it sound as if ya tryin 2tell him u want him on bed...be open and take it easy when tokin 2him abt it...but u shd prepare urself in case he asks u sumtin reali dirty..hehe...

Just ask him to be honest with you, and tell him it doesn't matter whatever answer he gives you, you'll still be his friend. If he wants you to keep his answer in confidence, then make sure you do it. A true friend will be that, a true friend.... and will never betray trust. Whatever answer he gives you, then go with it and don't act any different.

let him tell you when he is ready. I had a friend like that and he never had to tell me he just said things like "that guy is so hot" and i just kinda knew. and my other friend who was gay told me when she was ready.
