Strike Rate is like percentage.
Strike Rate = Runs scored divided by balls played multiplied by 100.

Following example will make it clear.

Afridi scores 50 of 25 balls. ........................ 50 (25)
Strike Rate = 50/25 * 100 = 200

This Strike Rate is for one inning.

The overall strike rate of a player is calculated by taking into account all the runs he scored and the balls he played in all his matches.

For Batsman strike rate means no of runs score in 100 balls and for Bowler strike rate means no of balls bowl for a wicket.

There are two types of strike rate(s.r.)
batting strike rate = runs scored by batsmen per 100 balls
bowling strike rate = the average number of balls bowled per wicket
