"The Notebook" came out a few years ago. I think it opened some people's eyes but it wasn't very accurate as far as how an advanced Alzheimer's patient acts. There aren't moments of complete lucidity like that. Unfortunately.

There is a film about short term memory loss thats is called Memento, it stars Guy Pearce and Carrie-Anne Moss, and was released in 2000.
