Am cheating here coz i am British (mainly but am also partly Scottish and partly POlish - very mixed cultural grandparents / parents) but i really like British men - generally. They have a wicked sense of humour and are not the most romantic men about which for me is great becuase i would feel far too suffocated, and have, when people buy me loads of pressies and text / phone several times a day and give me their undivided attention. Any men reading this, yes I know, we women don't know what we want and i am probably one of the worst for that!
And in response to the person who said brits get drunk and then get violent, it is actually a small minority that do. I worked for many years in a pub working Friday and Saturday nights and only saw violence a handful of times and then it was only by those who would be up for a fight whether they were drunk or sober. Just wanted to clear up the records there that we are not all Drunken, Violent Louts (and that's just the women).

Fu*k what they think
we as a nation rock. don't question it.
long live the Queen
Some of your prior folk commented on 'accents' bet they have only heard the toffs and the cockney thanks to TV and Films. us northerners would shock the sh*t out of 'em. that is if they could understand a word we were talking about
Heard of some Yankee tourists going to Notting hill (cos of the film) expecting it to be a proper white middle class part of town but ha little do they know what Notting Hill is really possibly the biggest Rasta community outside of Birmingham or Jamaica not exactly what they expected. lol
kinda goes to show you cant trust everyones opinion

I'm from America and I don't like to generalize people based on their country of origin. It totally depends on the guy. Likewise, I hope he doesn't have preconceived notions about American women before meeting me. Open-mindedness is a huge turn-on and these sweeping generalization questions are awful!

I think they are mighty fine, a bit uppidity, but for the most part, quite nice. Care to share in a cup o' tea? From the good ole U. S. of A !

As a female Brit, part Irish, sticking my ore in here, as my son has fallen in love with an US/Irish female.
He met her on the net, has met her in life, is now about to meet her once again in Ireland, and is going to the States to stay with her in New Year, I thought I'd nose on in.
Apart from fear of losing him forever from our country, if he loves her and she loves him, and it works, I'm happy for them both.
I once loved a Canadian, in my younger days, male of course, he badly let me down!
But, hey, I'm sure there are many nice Americans out there, unlike, I hope, George Bush:-)
