Because, we are so proud of ourselves, so selfish, that we think that nobody is more intelligent than we are, and we are always right, which is simply a wrong way of thinking.
It does take some humility, tolerance, and be open minded, and the most important, be ready to listen to the other before talking.
Just watch around, people talk more than they listen, and here where the problems start.

because then the military-industrial complex would collapse, and no-one would have a job. there'd be no need for religion, so there'd be all those unemployed priests begging for pennies on street corners...and "conflict TV" show hosts would have nothing to do.
Imagine.
