Interesting question....there are a number of things to consider. First you are going from a carburated fuel system to either a MPFI or TBI fuel injection system. The blocks are quite possibly different, one may be cast the other may be aluminum. And then you have to look at the electronics. The 84 will not have a computer or ECM while the 94 will definitely have one. The biggest question is whether or not you can get the information, electronic signals for the vehicle to run properly.

Yup, it'll work, but to make it the simplest install, you'll have to take the heads, intake, etc. off the 94 motor, and install them on the 84. If you want to spend a little extra money, just get the TBI manifold for the older model carbureted heads, and slap the whole thing together. The blocks are basically the same, except for that one uses a 1-pc rear main seal and the other uses a 2-pc rear main. Otherwise, the blocks are almost identical. I've taken a 92 chevy motor out of a truck, put 97 vortec van heads on it, and installed it in a 72 el camino. SBCs will interchange like you wouldnt believe. If you'll change the heads, you've got everything you need there except for the gaskets, which you can probly get for under a hundred bucks at your local napa or wherever. Hope this helps.

Yeah, it will without a problem. Like others have said, you'll have to remove all the sensors and things like that from the 94 engine, as well as the heads and manifolds. They will bolt right on to the older block. If you don't actually have the 94 engine, that will make things more complicated. You can of course just put the other engine in and run it as it is, but the computer will not be hooked up to anything, and the rest of the vehicle may not operate correctly. The transmission may not shift right for example. Hopefully you do have the original engine, and it will be fairly straight forward. Don't forget to label everything.

Chevrolets are the most interchangeable cars in the universe. All small blocks share the same external dimensions. It wil bolt right in. How interchangeable are Chevrolets? I've got a 1967 Chevy ll Nova with a 350 out of a 75 Monte Carlo bolted to a TH350 tranny out of a 79 El Camino and the driveshaft from the Nova slid right into the tailshaft on the 79 transmission. Gotta love them Chevys!!

Without looking it up, you'll probably just have to change the motor mounts and make sure it mounts up to the transmission.
There are the "Car Guys" on NPR (national public radio) that you can ask and they'll know for sure. Go to NPR.org and find their phone number. Their on the radio (in the Philly area) on Saturday afternoons.

Sure it will
BUT
in order to have it run correctly you must use the throttle body off the newer engine
Also you might want to use the newer sensors for the water and oil

most of the newer engines have the computer mounted by the carb.this will have to be used with the throttle body
