Does anyone think it rather odd that Dr Mark Sloan (Dick Van Dyke) of Diagnosis Murder seems to solve all the murders in California while working full time in a hospital? To add to this, Dr Sloan's son (Dick Van Dyke's real life one too) is a policeman and never seems to catch any criminals! Instead, he ends being hit over the head by some scoundrel and taken to the hospital where his dad works!

No, it is fun and frothy TV.

And you are forgetting Steve's many experiments in hair colour (detect that !!!), the introduction of the rest of the Van Dyke clan..foxy nurses...very important..oh, and Steve's many girlfriends which changed every week.

Don't forget Amanda and Jesse, they got involved, got hit over the head and ended up back in the Hospital (except when it exploded via a bomb and then got rebuilt very quickly looking exactly the same) *sigh*.

And the foxy guest stars and the way Doctor Sloane used his many showbiz talents to solve the case.

But most of all, the ability to laugh at themselves.

Ok, you may of guessed, I watched it a bit...but when I was off ill from work, honest. Well it was not prescribed by my Doctor, but it should of been and should..it would solve many problems in sociey today, I can tell you. And I am.

I guess he's not any different from Quincy, Jessica Fletcher or Miss Marple - the police would appreciate it if they were all completely useless like Mark Sloan's son.
