Every bit of that "evidence" has been solidly debunked. People with absolutely no knowledge of the science they are discussing keep repeating it, but it's wrong.

Forgetting all the technical details, just answer why the Russians would go along with the hoax? Getting to the moon first was a matter of national pride for both countries, and they would certainly have been able to know if our spacecraft left Earth orbit.

I also love the one about how the government framed O.J. Simpson because of his part in "Capricorn One", about a faked mission to Mars. Seems it took them 16 years to get around to it.

People love conspiracy theories, and if there is no reason to *suspect* a conspiracy, they'll create one out of whole cloth. Note that many of the most vocal people pushing the moon landing theories are selling something; a book, a video. Their websites offer all kinds of tantalizing clues, but to get the "full story", you need to shell out the bucks.

Oh, and before someone points out that Phil Plait of "Bad Astronomy" (2nd link) also sells stuff, yes, he does sell all kinds of BA junk. But he doesn't require you to buy it to get the information he presents on his website.

If you have a good telescope and a powerful laser, you can detect reflected light from the corner-cube reflectors left on the Moon by the Apollo astronauts. Scientists around the world use these reflectors to measure the distance between the Earth and the Moon by measuring the time it takes for the light to travel to the Moon and back.

Hundreds of thousands of people were actively involved in the Apollo program. It would have been impossible to fake the landings without the involvement and knowledge of many of these people.

There's no evidence that we didn't. You're just probably not old enough to remember a couple things.

1. The Russians would have been the first to yell "hoax" if we'd faked it. They could prove we were there...the radio transmissions came from there.

2. Even today with a strong enough telescope you can see the stuff we left behind (the rover, etc.) How did that get up there?

There is no evidence that we didn't. There can be no evidence of things not done. There is certainly evidence that we did, in fact reflectors placed on the moon by astronauts are still used to measure the distance to the moon and register moon-quakes.

A conspiracy that requires more then three people will fail, let alone one that requires millions. This question is attention begging.

Yes, the moon landing was real, there's a mirror up on the moon that was put there by apollo astronauts. It's what geologists use to measure the drift rates of the continental plates with. They bounce a laser off it to measure the distances.

The 'evidence' is a conspiracy theory cooked up by people who don't know what they're talking about.

Keeping a fake landing a secret is probably harder then doing it for real, even 40 years ago when not EVERY person who had a piece of information ran to a reporter with it.

It was real alright. And those who have all these theories about how it was faked haven't done their homework. Flag blowing in the breeze? It was held out to the side with a metal framework! For every question a doubter raises, there is a reasonable explanation.

Funny, because when the faithful question evolution, they are called all sorts of names and said to deny scientific 'evidence'. But when one calls the moon landings fake, then all of a sudden we have to prove it to them?

Your question is phrased incorrectly. It should read:
"There is a lot of speculation that says we did not, but a lot of evidence we did."
Read through some previous responses to this oft asked question. And please find for me one example of evidence it was a hoax that has not been refuted. All the reasons certain blind (meaning they apparently don't trust their eyes) persons keep giving have all been refuted as incorrect conclusions.

Bottom line: The US did truly land several missions of astronauts and equipment with NASA's Apollo program. We were there.

Go to badastronomy.com or something. You should find evidence that we DID go to the Moon, not just some fake hoax.

Im gonna say that we did not the first time around in the cold war and that was all to get a hand up in the cold war. There is plenty of evidence that suggests we didn't such as the flag blowing in the pics, no stars, the suits not being fit for extreme temps, the shuttle not being fit for the radiation belt, photo inconsistencies and people involved mysteriously dying. I think there is something to it

I don't think it really matters if we landed on the moon back then, cause it's a fact we've been there since! Did we do it ? We have by now. If we faked it, we were still the first to fake it, so what?
